“Negotiation: men and women compared”: a successful event in the GEWISS Sustainability Journey
Cenate Sotto
26 September 2024

On September 26, the exciting event “Negotiation: men and women compared” was held at the GEWISS Experience Center in front of an audience of about a hundred spectators. The meeting, organized in collaboration with the WAW (Women at Work) team, analyzed the differences and similarities in negotiation methods between men and women, promoting gender diversity as a fundamental resource to enrich the working environment.

“Negotiation: men and women compared” saw the participation of Professor Cristina Higgins, a popular TED speaker and university lecturer, who shared the central principles of negotiation based on gender dynamics, offering an experiential and concrete approach. The meeting then continued with a round table moderated by Laura Onorati and Simone Capoferri of GEWISS, during which Patrizia Durini and Francesco Toscano, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategic Marketing Officer at GEWISS respectively, were able to talk about their experience in the negotiation field, not only in the professional sphere but also in the private one. Raffaella Donghi, CFO of Sangalli SPA and WAW associate, also participated in the round table.

The September 26 event is part of the broader and more complex GEWISS Sustainability Journey 2024. This ambitious project focuses on all-around sustainability, tailoring it in its many facets for the people, the products, and the processes. Launched in July, the rich cycle of conference and workshop carnets - held in various company locations, both in person and online - will continue until December to increase awareness of sustainability issues, also consolidating the value of diversity and contributing to the creation of an even more inclusive and responsible work environment.

Through these meetings, GEWISS once again confirms its steady commitment to a more sustainable future from an environmental, financial and social standpoint, investing in crucial issues such as the circular economy, waste reduction, attention to people's well-being and the creation of an open and collaborative corporate culture.

We thank our guests, speakers and public for making "Negotiation: men and women compared" an exciting and enlightening discussion opportunity.

“Companies play a fundamental role in supporting the growth of their staff.
The development of negotiation skills is fundamental for each of us, a fundamental asset both for life in the company and for personal life.
Thanks to Prof. Higgins, the WAW association and the participants of the round table, we had the opportunity to deepen the different approach between genders to negotiation practices, a unique opportunity for personal enrichment for all those who participated in this stimulating evening.”
