Velodromo Maspes-Vigorelli

There is a new light that lights up the night in the CityLife district of Milan: that of the Maspes-Vigorelli Velodrome and its lighting system, created by Digital Sport Innovation with the Stadium PRO Series | 3 and Smart [PRO] 2.0 by Gewiss.

Built in 1935 following the demolition of the antiquated Sempione velodrome, the Maspes-Vigorelli (originally dedicated only to track cycling and later also used for American football competitions) has undergone several restorations over the years.

The structure has hosted various sporting events (in addition to those already mentioned, there was a cross-country ski world cup race in 1997 and three stage arrivals of the Giro D’Italia in the 1950s and 1960s) and non-sporting events, such as historic Beatles concerts in 1965.

The 142 Smart [PRO] 2.0 luminaires just installed will illuminate the runway even in the most adverse weather conditions, guaranteeing an average illuminance of over 700 Lux on all sectors of the runway and a level of uniformity greater than 0.6.

44 Stadium PRO | 3 is capable of ensuring an average illuminance of >600 Lux and a level of uniformity equal to 0.7. Thanks to a DALI management system installed in each of the Stadium PRO | 3 luminaires, it will also be possible to adjust the intensity of the luminous flux at will, adjusting the lighting levels according to different competitive needs or other types of needs.

Finally, luminaires belonging to the Smart [3] and Smart [3] Plus ranges were used for the lighting of the stands and annexed rooms.
